Yuito Takahashi (高橋結仁, Takahashi Yuito) is a vampire who was born and raised as a human in a small village in Japan, just like his younger sister Akari Takahashi. At the age of 15, he and his sister were attacked by a vampire, turning them both into vampires. He studied medicine, works as a medical professor at a university in Tokyo and is married to the witcher Shaira.

Appearance

Yuito has light blonde, wavy hair that goes a little past his shoulders. He usually ties part of it up and wears the rest loose. His upper canine teeth are slightly larger and more prominent, as is usual for vampires. As a human, he had dark brown eyes, which turned green after his vampire transformation. When he uses his vampire abilities, is angry or wants to scare someone, his eyes turn blood red and glow menacingly. He also usually has light make-up on his eyes.

He has a total of 12 piercings. A tongue piercing, three lobe piercings on each of his ears, two additional helix piercings on his right ear and two helix piercings and an industrial piercing on his left ear.

His clothing style is relatively simple, but still looks fashionable. He usually wears plain, loose-fitting tops such as shirts or hoodies together with plain pants in dark colors. At university, he normally wears shirts, usually dark red, black trousers and sometimes a white coat. He also wears glasses, although he doesn't actually need them.

Personality

At first glance, Yuito seems annoyed and rather cold and distant. However, when you get to know him better, he is actually very nice. At least if you don't get on his nerves. When it comes to his sister Akari or Shaira, the vampire can't take a joke and you'd better be careful. Even though he had to go through many bad things at an early age, he is rarely pessimistic and is more of a realist.

Despite having a slightly rebellious phase as a teenager, he is very conscientious and took on responsibility at a young age. And he still does today. If he has had a bad day, he can quickly become annoyed, but this usually subsides quite quickly. However, it is better to leave him alone until then.

Relationships

Shaira

Shaira and he met by chance in the Mochizuki bakery. The two quickly got on well and soon ended up together. They have been in a happy relationship ever since and now live together and are married by now.

Akari

Yuito and his little sister Akari have a very good relationship. From an early age, they have always been there for each other, especially after the death of their parents and their transformation into vampires. Yuito sometimes worries about her too much and is overly protective, but only because he is worried about her.

Rhianikki

The first time he met Rhianikki, the day ended with her almost killing him because he wanted to tease Haruka a little. Since then, he's been extremely cautious not to anger her. Especially after he found out that Shaira is the witch's student and almost like a son to her.

Shin

Shin is Yuito's best friend. The two met in middle school and became friends there. Especially after the loss of Yuito's parents and when he and Akari became vampires, he received a lot of support from Shin and his family. Since then, Yuito has known that he can always rely on Shin and the Kuroha family.

Nanami

Yuito and Nanami met through Shin when he took Yuito to the ryokan for the first time. The two have become friends and get on very well, even though they rarely see each other at the moment as they both have a lot to do. She was also one of the first to learn of Yuito's loss of his parents and his transformation into a vampire.

Mariko

Yuito has known Mariko since she was a baby, as he had been friends with Shin and Nanami for many years by then. A good friendship has also developed between him and her, which still exists today.

Derio

The first time they met was when Akari and Derio were already together. Shortly afterwards, Yuito discovered that Derio was the vampire who turned him and Akari into vampires, even if unintentionally. Nevertheless, he's done with the Viancello vampire ever since. Although Yuito accepts their relationship, he still doesn't like Derio. He always pays close attention when he is around, especially because of Derio's seizures. If he were to hurt Akari or Shaira as a result, Yuito wouldn't hold back.

Hina

During the time he helped out at the ryokan, he got to know Hina, who often visited there. The two became friends, even if contact was lost for a while.

Haruka

The vampire only really got to know Haruka later, when she had already left the academy with Akaya. At the time, she was helping out in her parents' bakery for a while. Since Shaira and Haruka are also good friends, he sees her from time to time and the two get along quite well.

Akaya

Yuito and Akaya first met when Haruka was helping out at the bakery. They didn't have the best start, as Yuito wanted to tease Haruka a little. However, the two now get along quite well and are neutral towards each other. At least, as long as he doesn't harm Haruka.

Kyōko & Ryūji

Yuito only got to know the two angels later. For a while, he helped out Akari in the bakery and that's how they got to know each other, even though he already knew Hina. He gets on well with the couple and always helps them when they need something.

Etymology

The name Yuito means "tie, bind" (結, yui) and "compassion, kindness" (仁, to).
Yuito's surname Takahashi means "high bridge" (高橋, takahashi).

General

Yuito worked at the ryokan for a while, but didn't really like the job.
He is a relatively regular guest at the ryokan, now also together with Shaira.
Although he enjoys working as a professor, he is thinking about opening his own practice and learning more about the medicine of various magical beings.
In middle school, he was friends with a girl named Fumiko, whom he dated in high school. However, he tragically lost her to suicide.
He and Shin went to the same middle and high school together.
